I am not a big fan of economic policies that rely on subsidies and other government support. However, in this case I really think it is money well spent.
The EU has given its ok for German subsidies for Northvolt`s battery factory in Schleswig Holstein (Northern Germany).
Apart from the subsidies, the really interesting fact is that the other decisive argument for the location is that there is an abundance of wind energy available in that part of Germany.
Going forward, the question remains if Europe can be competitive compared to the US and Asia when it comes to big investments in cleantech production.
What do other people think about it?
