Where Liverpool leads, Sacramento follows! Well, not strictly true, Liverpool may be world champions of football/Soccer, but not yet in MaaS. We do have a small service of on demand transit, but this from Sacramento is good to see. Every tentative step towards MaaS is welcome. It's about changing behaviours and mind-sets right now, as much as the evolution of tech. Well played Sacramento. One more reason why we are building our US operations.
At Hyperion we work at the forefront of the digitalisation of both mobility and energy. Building teams for some of the most innovative companies in the space.
Sacramento Regional Transit District (SacRT) has launched a 42-vehicle on-demand transit system in partnership with mobility solutions company Via. The partners claim it is the largest on-demand public transit system deployed in America to date. Named SmaRT Ride, the on-demand shared transit network serves nine zones throughout Sacramento, California, and aims to increase access to convenient, comfortable public transportation, as well as acting as a link to existing transit hubs. The SmarRT Ride programme launched in February 2018 and the City of Sacramento has now partnered with Via to expand the service and add new functionality for riders.
