The United Nations Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) report has announced that coal fired power generation must be phased out by 2050. The IPCC report also identified Hydrogen as a possible fuel option to replace coal or at-least help mitigate the changeover process.
Doing so could propel Australia to becoming a world leader in Hydrogen utilisation and production with the possibility of safely exporting the fuel. The Commonwealth Scientific and Industrial Research Organization (CSIRO) researchers have developed a unique method which allows Hydrogen to be converted into Ammonia for safe transport which can then be turned into Hydrogen on completion of mass transport.
This development once again proves Hydrogen to be a fundamental fuel which provides huge benefits to the energy industry and cannot be overlooked.
Australia's chief scientist Alan Finkel has called for hydrogen to replace fossil fuels as an everyday source of power.
