I have written about vehicle to grid (V2G) technology and pilot projects in the past but real tangible projects are now coming thick and fast. In this instance EMotorWerks are aggregating their network of 10,000 EV chargers in California to provide demand response services to the California ISO. They are also looking at accessing frequency regulation markets in the near future and other grid services markets which would provide additional income for EV owners. California has the volume of infrastructure required to aggregate to provide these services and as other regions and providers get to that critical point we should see this as commonplace worldwide.
