French renewable energy company Neoen have recently filed documents revealing that they're on target to make back 1/3 of the projects construction costs within the first year of operation. The first of its kind 100MW Tesla lithium-ion battery began operating back in late 2018 and its fed power from nearby Hornsdale wind farm.
Neoen have also announced further battery storage projects including coupling an existing 194MW wind farm to a major storage facility as well as the proposal of a 50MW storage facility in Queensland.
This remarkable news paves way for further projects all over the world with industrial sized battery storage becoming an ever increasingly viable option.
The Tesla lithium-ion battery in South Australia is on track to make back a third of its construction costs in its first year of operation, new financial documents show.
