Wired have put together a fantastic quick guide for residential batteries and solar panels available in the UK market. This back to basics article offers a good explanation of each product with a detailed breakdown of the 'need to know' info a new buyer may need.
Although it will be argued certain specifications are missing and the detail/comparison could be more thorough it has to be remembered that this guide isn't aimed at people working within the industry. After speaking with some of my peers (non industry), they feel unable to fully grasp many of the articles due to the technical jargon that is rife with renewables.
Therefore I feel there needs to be further coverage on the sector with a lot more jargon busting, giving the everyday person a clearer understanding. Wired has successfully done this and is a must read for clean tech minded people.
With prices endlessly spiralling upwards and the majority of the UK’s energy still produced by burning fossil fuels, solar panels offer homeowners the chance to wriggle out of the grip of the big six energy firms and go it alone.
