This is great news that Germany is now generating over a third of its electricity requirements from renewable sources. Germany has always been the European and world leader when it comes to renewable energy adoption. However this article covers an important point which is often missing from the impressive headlines. Electricity generation is only half of the issue. Energy usage from heating and transport makes up a far larger proportion of total energy usage. Germany are certainly not alone in lagging behind targets for increasing the share of renewables in heating and transport, it is an issue faced by the majority of European countries. E-mobility has seen a massive rise over the last couple of years though and it is set to increase exponentially which will certainly help with achieving European targets.

At Hyperion we have been very active in the e-mobility sector recently. We have partnered with some of the leading companies in electric vehicle charging solutions, helping them to recruit top talent throughout Europe.
