This is very welcome news. As the UK is, for now at least, part of the European Union, then I hope that the concept and the classifications will be applicable here. If Brexit does occur then it certainly won't be before December, and for now I understand from a policy perspective it's business as usual re the EU. I shall be asking colleagues at the Renewable Energy Association for clarification from contacts at BEIS.

A proper classification for storage, and a technology neutral approach to the energy mix is a vital part of fully enabling renewables and storage to compete fairly and to achieve the efficiency and cost reductions we know the industry is capable of if not constrained. Viva the EU, whose idea was it to leave!!!
